Ever think that maybe by experimenting with more frequent Green drops (and possibly gold items) overall that they're discouraging solo farming? I admit that they still havent implemented anything from those "double drop" weekends yet.... but it's a delicate and long process...

But then again, there will be those who yell and scream about more frequent drops destroying the economy...

No I'm not joking. Remember a 20/20 Rare skinned weapon with perfect stats is worth more to me than yourself and a green.

Anet does listen to people who don't like high prices, hence 3x green weekend. That is one way to combat it and I'm sure they are thinking the same thing, there is other reasons. The farming nerf to hit botters and what not because of Ebay money and high priced modifiers, no one buys them from them usually anyways cause enough people have enough mods, but still people complain cause they want everything 20k or less.

Anet doesn't listen to farmers by all the nerfs, whether it has a good effect or bad. People don't know whether they like it or not because they confuse with their doings, maybe not to one such as yourself who's so with them.

I like how you say you're not flaming or trolling, when the ?!?!?! and they way you responded to me was a perfect way of showing just that. Good job.

^n means multiplied with itself n times.
examples:
3^3 = 3 x 3 x 3 = 27

etc.

If you wanted to express times 3,

I'm sorry but what exactly is the proper way of responding to someone who says "People who like greens are sucking up to ANET" and other outrageous claims? Other than with confusion like I did?

This is what the 5th time you misunderstood something I've posted. I said they get them for hero's or themselves or are sucking up to Anet. That or there states that I didn't mean all people who like greens and I was talking about the people who posted in this thread, some of their posts seemed to be sucking up to Anet to me. I don't like Anet's way of dealing with things, I don't like when people suck up to Anet and I don't like when people defend something I feel is bad. I still play their game though because it's fun. I can also contradict myself because I have that power.

The other claims aren't outrageous, where the hell have you been in game? Don't you sit in town and talk to people for 3-5 hours like I do, or play 10+ hours a day like I do? Obviously you know nothing of what I'm speaking if you don't. The other so called "claims" are things I have witnessed in the game, and those statements I made are what I concluded from them.

Honestly Sid what is your problem? You don't like how I talk against this weekend? You accomplish nothing by attacking my posts of an opinion I stated whether it was based on fact or not in your eyes because your opinion doesn't matter to me. So I believe it was fact because I've been there to witness things in the past I see people complaining I see the market and I see peoples reactions to it.

Remember all of it is my opinion, it doesn't have to make sense to you, it doesn't have to be right to you and you don't have to understand it.

Granted I do love this game whether I like the company's actions or not, it's brought a lot to me.

I'm not bothered to read the whole thread, but you guys clearly don't see what Anet is nerfing. It's not farming. It's solo and duo-farming they don't like. They enjoy people going in with a group of people trying to get greens. They don't enjoy some guy doing his 71st solorun through uw.

Does Anet realize that doesn't make you a good amount of money? You'd have to grind it to get any kind of expensive armor, even if that does include people. But I suppose that's what that armor is suppose to be then, a grind.

I love grouping up too, but a lot of people know that you can get more if you solo than grouping up with a person. But do you think more people will group up because of this? Or do you think they will still solo and use Hero's and just send them away? Some people will group but I don't think much will change now.

Yeah that makes sense but do you think you can make 1 million off this weekend?

I for one am glad they are doing this. Greens should be cheaper. If the economy deflated a lot, people wouldn't need as much gold to do things. It would all balance out. Personally, I am tried of trying to keep my storage above 750k. TYVM ANET.

Like I said in the above, it was times three. They ended up impletmenting the 6v6 HoH that weekend, and promised the green drop would be better. They made it times three.

nope I didnt read that thread, and I was commenting more on the fact that I have yet to get a green so that mutiplying nothing by anything will still give me what I already have---nothing.

Hm, didnt realize they have upped the canthan weekend either....maybe that is why I actually got a few greens that weekend........so maybe I DO stand a minutely tiny chance of getting a green this weekend, if I play at all that is. And are there any good elona greens???

Let's try and remember why greens were introduced in the first place back in September of 2005. Since Guild Wars is attractive with both PvP and PvE and Anet encourages bringing over PvE characters to play in PvP they introduced a way to help keep the PvE characters competitive with those created for only PvP. Since the PvP characters have access to perfect weapons and it was rather pricey for PvE characters to have comparable items, this was a way to keep the playing field level at a reasonable cost. Of coarse prices started high but they dropped to a more affordable range after a while and were still cheaper then buying all the mods seperatly. Sure, you could get collectors items but they still needed to be modded and we all know how expensive perfect mods use to be back then. Now with the introduction of Heros and having to equip each one seperatly per character, I can see why Anet has done this so soon after the release of Nightfall. Again, you can roll a PvP character and Hero's with perfect items so it only makes sense to give PvE based hero's access to comparable items at a reasonable cost. One could argue why then isn't the drop rate better for green items and I believe it's Anet's way of preserving the integrity of PvE item's while at the same time still making them affordable to those who cross their PvE toons and hero's over to PvP. Anet like's to mix PvE and PvP and this is their way of keeping both sides even on the battlefield.

That's a figure for the price of FoW, or near price of it. I was just saying that some people like to get that and have a hard time making money (again that statement comes from what I've seen people say in game), I'm not saying Anet should help them, but they shouldn't take away means to making that money.

This weekend will net people some money, some people more than others, but will it help people gain what they want to buy? It should a little bit. This weekend will help but I dont think it will be enough.

Well...this event is kinda needed since new dervishes and paragons are desperate for good enough weapons.

Thankfully NF has provided plenty of ways to make money. Insignias that are decently priced, rubies and sapphires, new runes.

And for the people that like good stuff to buy, there is the new vabbi armor to add to the fow collection

Personally I find buy low sell high is actually easier with lower prices since people are much likely to accept a bit higher prices if they need something.

As long as they keep adding more stuff like vabbi armor and white dye/insignia its fine....green ain't exactly prestige compared to gold items and other stuff anyways.

^ must agree with rahja. the reason anet has these types of weekends is to drop prices on all greens and "unique" items so that the masses may have a sniff of them.
